BioWare’s Anthem Delayed
Last night, Kotaku explained that BioWare’s Anthem Delayed to 2019. Since, EA bought BioWare and with their past reputation, this game depends on company’s future. Sources also explained that, EA cannot let BioWare delay Anthem more than 2019. So, the game will launch somewhere in 2019 following early BETA.
Electronic Arts (EA) is a company behind Legendary titles in gaming community. They originated many genres and it was among the best gaming companies. With popularity came money, they got greedy in their road to success and started focusing on microtransactions. This has ruined their reputation of past decades, they also talked about that Anthem is going to have microtransaction. The gameplay looks promising though, let’s wait and see what this game holds for EA.
We’ve seen and heard nothing of Anthem outside of its E3 reveal in June last year. Officially, Anthem had a release date of fall 2018 but, the news came with no surprise, the game is delayed to 2019, possibly Spring. Here Gamespot explained what kotaku said
The site notes the complexity of its launch, as BioWare needs to account for not just the release of the game itself, but an earlier release through EA Access, a beta test, and post-launch updates. If EA is still intent on getting the game out during the 2019 fiscal year, its launch could come no later than March 2019.
New Dragon Age
It has also come to light that most of the BioWare’s team is working on Anthem, a small teams maintaining Star Wars: The Old Republic and a small group is working on upcoming new Dragon Age. There’s no official news on Dragon Age yet, this project was rebooted in the light of adding new stuff “Live Elements” kotaku explained but till we get official news, nothing can be said with surety.
As BioWare’s team is mostly assigned to Anthem explained that EA is being cautious. The game looks promising as it has open world, RPG material, but it also has microtransaction system. Which, mostly becomes a reason of hate. I personally, hope this game turns out good, so we can see more awesome titles coming out of EA once again.
